Family, friends and fellow students gather in the dojang to
watch junior white belts test for yellow. Park's Taekwondo School is housed in a 3,500 square foot dojang on Peverly Hill Road
in Portsmouth, where it moved in 2005 after 18 years on nearby Islington Street.
The dojang, one of the largest in New England, offers the best possible training
environment. The two training areas have padded floors, mirrored walls,
punching/kicking bags and stretching equipment. The building's design ensures
optimum temperatures for training in all seasons. There are changing and shower
facilities for women and men. This view of the dojang shows the glassed-in
entrance area at the rear, where observers can watch training. The hallway that runs along the half
wall leads to the women's changing area, a handicap-accessible bathroom,
and Grandmaster Park's office.
