Korean Picnic Volleyball Tournament, August 2005

The Park's Taekwondo School team (left) and the first place trophy it won after more than three hours of intense volleyball action at the Korean Methodist Church in Greenland in August. Team Park marched through the tournament without a single loss on the strength of Scott Plaice's blistering serves; spiking and blocking on the front line by Alfred Marcoux, Sean and Mike McGrail; and dig-for-every-shot speed by Danny Plaice and Grandmaster Park. The team's victories came despite indulging (and over-indulging) in a spectacular Korean meal before the tournament and playing in scorching late-summer heat that didn't favor the over-40 set. Standing with the trophy are Alfred and Scott in the back row, and in the front row Grandmaster Park, Danny, Sean and head cheerleader Ella McGrail.
